The trick to choosing Moroccan-like accessories is finding items that are mosaic/geometric elements. I found so many lanterns and trays in places like Home Goods and TjMaxx.
2) Colors: Base your colors on the accessories you have and colors you would find in places like Morocco. Bright and bold colors are all splattered around Morocco. For us the nude pink we found on Moroccan walls was the statement color we chose. To create a modern look, stick to more subtle colors with more monochromatic look. Black and White are classic colors that fall in both modern and traditional styles. The key to creating the Modern Moroccan look is allowing the monochromatic colors to be the base colors, and the bright color to be the statement color.
3) Feng Shui way it: These days, people are more into adding elements of design that have a purpose. The Moroccan look is always associated with a laid back feel. Bring in elements like plants to create a oasis of a modern moroccan style. Choose plants that clean your air, such as aloe vera, bamboo palm or peace lily.
